NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION VACANCY

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Barstow is soliciting interested Barstow residents to apply for appointment to the City’s Planning Commission.  The Planning Commission consists of five appointed members, and hears development-related projects, and applications related to Planning, zoning and environmental laws.  The Commission also acts as the City’s Traffic Committee, reviewing traffic control, speed limit, and other related issues. 

Qualified applicants must be a full-time resident of the City of Barstow, be willing to serve without thought of personal gain, benefit or bias, and attend Monday night meetings twice per month commencing on or after April 22, 2019, and other meetings as may be scheduled from time to time.  The appointment is for a vacated seat through December 31, 2019, with potential reappointment at the discretion of the City Council.

Deadline:  Individuals interested in applying should submit a letter of interest, with an Application for Service (available from the City Clerk) no later than Monday, April 8, 2019 to: City of Barstow, 220 East Mountain View, Suite A, Barstow, CA  92311, Attn: City Clerk – Planning Commission Appointment.  A selection committee will schedule and conduct interviews of candidates, and recommend a selection to the City Council by April 15, 2019.
