The Barstow Youth Advisory Council (BYAC) was established by the City Council of the City of Barstow on March 19, 2009 via Resolution No. 4688-2009 and is comprised of teenagers  between the ages of 12 and 18, advocating on behalf of young people in Barstow.

The BYAC serves as an advisory body to the City Council in matters related to the needs of youth in Barstow and promotes youth involvement in the community.

The Youth Council aims to provide opportunities for youth service & development, participation in various volunteer activities and to offer young people a means for their voices to be heard in the local government decision making process.

Youth interested in joining the BYAC may apply by filling out an application and returning it to the City Clerk’s Office.
