SUMMARY:

On August 31, 2017, at approximately 12:30 AM, Barstow Police Officers responded to a disturbance in the 2300 block of Armory Road. The caller stated Evette Velasquez had come to his home in a white Chevrolet, Trailblazer and caused a disturbance by yelling at him. The caller also told officers he believed Velasquez might be intoxicated and that she left the area in the above vehicle.

Officers conducted a license status check on Velasquez and discovered her driver’s license was suspended. While officers were conducting an area check, Velasquez was located driving the above vehicle in the 100 block of Montara Road. Velasquez was contacted in regards to the original disturbance as well as her driver’s license status. As a result of her suspended driving privileges, Velasquez’s vehicle was towed.

During an inventory search of Velasquez’s vehicle, Officer Helms located methamphetamine and several packages containing different narcotics, which were packaged for quick distribution. Based on the quantity and variety of the narcotics, Velasquez was arrested. Additional methamphetamine and prescription pills were located in Velasquez’s pockets at the time of her arrest.

Velasquez was booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Jail in Barstow for being in violation of Health and Safety 11378 – Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale and 11379 – Transportation of a controlled Substance.

Anyone with additional information regarding this investigation may contact Officer Helms at the Barstow Police Department (760) 256-2211.  Those wishing to remain anonymous may also report criminal activity by calling the We-Tip hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463) or may leave information on the We-Tip website at www.wetip.com.
