If you have exhausted all of the resources available to you, sometimes a trip to the landfill is inevitable.  The good news is the City of Barstow offers FREE dump passes* that will waive the tipping fee for all residential waste at the County landfill.  Items such as furniture and mattresses can be loaded in your vehicle and hauled to the landfill.

NOTE:  ALL LOADS GOING TO THE COUNTY LANDFILL MUST BE TIED DOWN AND COVERED.  IF YOUR LOAD IS UNSECURED, YOU COULD BE FINED DOUBLE THE USUAL TIPPING FEE. 

* Free Dump Passes are issued at City Hall - 220 East Mountain View Street, Suite A

• ID and address verification required. 
• Limit 4 passes per year per household.
• Passes will be issued until funds in the current fiscal year budget have been expended. 

NOT ACCEPTED for pass:

• Appliances such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, hot water heaters, etc.
• Electronic Waste such as TVs/Computer monitors, Microwaves, radios/stereos
• Metal items 
• Tires

Yard waste, E-waste, Tires and Metal may be taken to Burrtec Waste at 250 Elks Lane as part of the drop-off recycling program. Hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm and Saturdays from 8am-12pm. Please contact 760-256-2730 for more information.

The Barstow Landfill is a San Bernardino County Waste Disposal Site and is located at 32553 Barstow Rd. Operation Hours are Mon-Sat 8am-4:30pm
