Spanish Trails

The City of Barstow coordinated the completion of the Spanish Trail Specific plan this past year.

After the plan was adopted, the City entered into an ENA with Malcolm Riley & Associates/The Bradco Companies to explore the potential of building the Shoppes at Spanish Trail:

The development team has proposed a comprehensive 800,000+sq.ft. mixed-use project on 112.4 acres off of Avenue L.

The development team is currently negotiating with Sater Oil to determine the feasibility of developing a 20.2 acres site (the former Valero site at the terminus of Avenue L and Main Street) as Phase I of the project.

Approximately 58 acres of the >100 acres is owned by the State Lands Commission and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).  BLM is in the process of transferring their land to the State Lands Commission.

We are coordinating with the State Lands Commission to determine purchasing and/or leasing terms once the process is completed.
